Social Weekends and Escapes

Our most popular trips and the perfect excuse to the leave the rat race, even if only for a few days.

These trips are all about taking the opportunity to explore different, beautiful parts of the country in the company of like-minded people, whether you’re looking for a variety of solo adventure holidays or to come along as a group.

We’ve designed the weekends to make it easy for guests to come along and really feel as though they are getting the most out of their mini-adventure.

For instance, apart from your travel arrangements, we take care of all the other logistics including finding the right accommodation, planning routes that showcase the best the area has to offer and meals.

All our walking breaks are led by qualified guides and a Large Outdoors host stays with the group to help guests settle in and feel relaxed. If you’re looking into taking one of your very first solo adventure holidays, we’d recommend booking on to one of our beginners trips now!

Adventure Holidays & Getaways

These trips enable guests to stay longer in a beautiful part of the country, whether weekend walking holidays in the Lake District, Isle of Skye, Scotland or Ireland, and really get to know the area.

Comprising three or more nights away, we have chosen some top notch accommodation in superb locations for these walking holiday packages, enabling each guest to relax into their stay.

We take the hassle out of organising a walking holiday by carefully planning itineraries that showcase the best places to visit in the area and providing options that will suit each member of the group.

We also often add in other additional activities for those who want to take a break from walking and try a different type of adventure, as well as building in sufficient down time for more leisurely pursuits whether it’s reading or simply sitting chatting over a gin and tonic.

Adventure days and experiences

What will you pick from our walking experience days? Surfing, coasteering or maybe some foraging..

While we’re passionate about walking, variety is the spice of life, they say, which is why we have introduced a range of events where you can try your hand at a new sport or activity, or set yourself a challenge.

From caving to coasteering, stargazing to wild swimming, there are a multitude of different adventures we’ve included in many of our trips.

Alternatively if you get the urge to take on a new challenge and set yourself a tougher goal take a look at some of our epics.

Whether you’re keen to walk longer distances such as Scotland’s West Highland Way, tackle the challenging National Three Peaks, or embark on one of our day adventures hiking to the summit of some of our biggest mountains, there are adventures aplenty.

Mountain day walks and challenges

What will be your next challenge?

Many of us have experienced those moments of madness where you think: “This is it, I want to push the boundaries and challenge myself”.

For years’ now we have been organising challenge events, helping those who are itching to get those boundaries pushed, to achieve their goals. It might be climbing Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis; walking an epic distance through beautiful Scottish scenery; or looking back with pride having completed the tough Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.

As well as working with top walking guides on the events themselves, we also provide comprehensive support in the lead up to the challenge, including advice on training and the kit you need to take.
