Nothing to do at Christmas? Why walking is the best way to spend it

Christmas. Love it or loathe it, there’s no getting away from it in the UK. If, for any reason, you want an escape from the annual festive hubbub, why not consider a Christmas walking holiday?

Combining feel-good guided walks in stunning locations across the UK, brilliant company, and hearty, home-cooked meals with just the right amount of festive fun, these walking holidays are perfect for enjoying the season-to-be-jolly without the traditional pressure. They’re your invitation to unwind, meet some wonderful people, and truly get away from it all in a very special place.

What is a Christmas Walking Holiday like?

Think roaring log burners, super-cosy lounge areas, and comfortable sleeping quarters, all set in breathtaking surroundings. That’s our accommodation.

Think warm, smiley, up-for-a-walk and, even more-so, up-for-a-laugh. That’s your company for the weekend.

Think doable hills, leisurely river valleys, woodland trails, and, depending on where you are, maybe even the coast - all shrouded in wintery wonder. Those are the walks.

Think glasses of wine by the fire, a bit of a celebration on the big day itself, deciding how much or little you fancy doing each day, and the opportunity to take some proper ‘me’ time. If that’s your ideal Christmas break, you’re in the right place!

Where could I go?

This year, we’re hosting Christmas Walking Holidays in two of our favourite parts of the country: Snowdonia and the Yorkshire Dales.

Each has the same magic formula of good laughs, great walks, fantastic food, and just the right amount of festive fun.
